Gifted & Talented - Upcoming Furlough & Success Plan Deadlines Report

Report Logic

The Upcoming Furlough & Success Plan Deadlines report lists currently enrolled GT students whose most recent meeting placed them on a Success Plan or a Furlough/Exit path and whose review is coming due within the next 30 days or became overdue within the last 30 days. It is divided into two sections: GT Success Plan Students and GT Furlough Students.

Each student is evaluated using only their single most recent GT meeting, determined by the latest meeting date and, when two meetings share a date, the most recently entered record. Older meetings are ignored, so a newer meeting always determines whether and where a student appears.

A student appears in the GT Success Plan Students section when their most recent meeting records a Path Forward of Scenario B: Success Plan Initiated and the review date falls within the next 30 days. A student appears in the GT Furlough Students section when their most recent meeting records a Path Forward of Scenario C: Furlough or Exit from GT Services and the review date falls within the next 30 days.

1. The student's most recent meeting sets the Path Forward to Success Plan (Scenario B) or Furlough/Exit (Scenario C).
   
2. The review date falls within the next 30 days, or has passed within the last 30 days - that is, anywhere from 30 days before today through 30 days after today.
3. The student is currently actively enrolled.
4. The student has not already exited the program as of the review date.
   

The Status column shows whether each review is Pending or Overdue. A review that has not yet reached its date shows as Pending; a review whose date has already passed shows as Overdue. So that students are not lost when a meeting runs a little late, an overdue student remains on the report for up to 30 days after the review date. As soon as a new meeting is recorded, the student is evaluated on that newer meeting instead, so they move to the correct section or drop off the report once no further review is due.

Accessing the report

There are two potential options for how to reach the Gifted & Talented reports, depending upon how your school district's PowerSchool is configured. There may be a page under Data & Reporting labeled as "GSD Reports", "Your District Abbreviation Reports", or "Your District Name Reports". The report is listed there as Upcoming GT Furlough and Success Plan Deadlines.

If you don't see an entry under Data & Reporting, it is likely that the reports were added to your server using the "new UI" - an entry somewhere in the left navigation menu on the main page.

The report respects the school you currently have selected - if you are at the district level, all schools are included; if a specific school is selected, the report shows only that school's students.

The report is titled Furlough/Success Plans.

Using the Report

The report presents two separate tables, one for each path forward.

The GT Success Plan Students table shows: Student Name, Grade, School, Meeting Date, Service Plan Date, and Status.

For students on a Success Plan, the date displayed is the Service Plan Date, but a student's appearance on this report, and in the reporting window, is based on the meeting's Review Date, not the Service Plan Date. If a Success Plan student is not appearing when you expect them to, check the Review Date recorded on their most recent meeting.

The GT Furlough Students table shows: Student Name, Grade, School, Meeting Date, Review Date, and Status.

Working with the report

1. Click the Student Name, Grade, or School column headers to sort a table; click a header a second time to reverse the order. The two tables sort independently of one another.
   
2. Click a student's name to open their record in a new tab.
