Report Logic
The Active Goals report lists every currently enrolled GT student who has active goals - that is, a meeting recorded as Scenario A: Continue in GT Program that has not since been replaced by a furlough or exit. It shows the goal and stretch-opportunity areas from the student's most recent Scenario A meeting. Use it to monitor the active goals being worked on across a school or the whole district.
Accessing the report
There are two potential options for how to reach the Gifted & Talented reports, depending upon how your school district's PowerSchool is configured. There may be a page under Data & Reporting labeled as "GSD Reports", "Your District Abbreviation Reports" or "Your Distrct Name Reports".
If you don't see an entry under Data & Reporting, it is likely that the reports were added to your server using the "new UI" - an entry somewhere in the left navigation menu on the main page. While GSD Educational Services attempts to standardize the menu placement during implementation, this is something that districts ultimately manage, so users may need to look around the menus to find the correct link.
The report respects the school you currently have selected — if you are at the district level, all schools are included; if a specific school is selected, the report shows only that school's students.
The report is titled Gifted & Talented Active Goals.
Using the report
Each row represents one student. The report shows the following columns:
- Student Name - the student's name, linked to their record.
- Grade - the student's current grade level.
- School - the student's school of enrollment.
- Meeting Date - the date of the most recent Scenario A meeting, which is the meeting whose goals are listed. A later Success Plan meeting does not change this date.
- Goal / Stretch Opportunity Domains - the subject areas (for example, Math, Science, English) of the goals set at that meeting.
Working with the report
- Click the Student Name, Grade, or School column headers to sort the list; click a header a second time to reverse the order.
- Click a student's name to open their record in a new tab.
Note: A student keeps appearing as long as their goals are still active. A later Success Plan (Scenario B) meeting does not remove them - their Scenario A goals remain active. A student drops off this report only once a later meeting records a Furlough or Exit (Scenario C) or sets an exit date.
