Navigate to Intervention Page
In order to access the Interventions screen, you must be in the District Office, not a school. Use the school selector in the upper right corner and pick District Office.
Navigate through the left-hand menu: District Management -> Academics -> Reading Improvement Plan Materials.
Alternatively, the search box in the page header can be used to locate the page.
Adding Interventions
The Interventions page will display all previously defined interventions. In order to add a new intervention, click the "Add Intervention Material" button on the right, above the Intervention Materials table.
Defining the Intervention
Enter in the relevant information for the new intervention:
- The name of the intervention materials.
- The areas of focus for which it can be used.
- Whether it is an intervention for Tier 2, Tier 3, or both.
- What portions of the day the intervention is available.
Once done, push the Submit button.
Modifying the Days/Minute Parameters
During initial implementation, options were configured for how many days per week interventions typically took place, how many minutes per day, and the group sizes the intervention could take place with. Some interventions are more rigid than others and need stricter minimum/maximum values than are setup by default. You can do that by clicking the Customize Parameters button for the intervention.
A new table will be displayed allowing you to define minimum and maximum values at each grade level and tier. These values apply only to the current intervention being edited.
Deleting the Custom Parameters
In the event that customized parameters are no longer needed, they can be deleted by clicking the "Revert to Default Parameters" button. This is a two stage process and the button will change to read, "Confirm Custom Parameter Delete." Clicking that button will remove the custom parameters entirely.
Modifying an Intervention
In order to modify an intervention, click the Edit button on the appropriate row in the Intervention Material table.
From this screen, an intervention can be modified to add categories, tiers, parts of the day it may be used, or adding customized days of week, minutes per day, or group size parameters.
Deactivating an Intervention
Interventions cannot be deleted once created. Deleting an intervention would cause it to disappear from any historical IRIP plans it had been added to. If an intervention material is no longer available to use with students, the intervention should be modified and the the box labeled, "Make Inactive?" should be checked. The page will have to be submitted for that to take effect. This will prevent the intervention from being added to any new or existing plans.
If an intervention is accidentally inactivated, or you need to make it available in the future, it can be done by unchecking the "Make Inactive?" box and submitting the page.
