The Alaska State Reporting Data Validation plugin is a subscription-based plugin. An unexpired license key, tied to your server, is required in order to access the plugin. License Expiration dates are maintained server-side. License installation is handled during initial implementation, and there generally is no need to change a license key in use.
If a valid license is not present, the list of reports, due dates, handbooks, and resources will not be present and users will not be able to select a report to run the validation rules against.
Test Servers
License keys are tied to specific servers. In the case where a school district has a test server they would like to the plugin with (that is not hosted by GSD Educational Services), please contact GSD Educational Services with the complete URL of the test server and it can be added to your license. Licensing will persist across refreshes of the test server when done via Data Pump.
Licensing information can be viewed by scrolling to the bottom of the AK Data Validation landing page and clicking the link to "View / update license information". In the event that your district is having an issue with licensing, providing a screenshot of the licensing screen will be necessary for troubleshooting.
Licensing Errors
There are several valid reasons why licensing may fail. These issues are explained by a banner message on the AK Data Validation page. Typically these message relate to payment issues.
Deactivated License
Districts who have used the AK State Reporting Data Validation plugin in the past, but discontinued their subscription will have their license key deactivated. In the event that the district renews its subscription, the license key can be re-activated, and a new license key is not necessary.
License in Grace Period
Most school districts are issued Net 30 invoices, allowing 30 days for payment to be processed. GSD Educational Services grants an additional 15 day grace period for payments to be completed. During this period, a message will be displayed indicating when the license expired, and how many days remain in the grace period.
Expired License
Most school districts are issued Net 30 invoices, allowing 30 days for payment to be processed. GSD Educational Services grants an additional 15 day grace period for payments to be completed. In the event that the renewal invoice has not been paid within 45 days, validation rules will no longer be returned to the district's PowerSchool server and a message indicating when the license expired will be displayed.
