Navigate to Intervention Materials Page
In order to access the Interventions screen, you must be in the District Office, not a school. Use the school selector in the upper right corner and pick District Office.
Navigate through the left-hand menu: District Management -> Academics -> Reading Improvement Plan Materials.
Alternatively, the search box in the page header can be used to locate the page.
Modify IRIP System Preferences
Below the Interventions Materials table, there is a System preferences section. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and click the "Modify IRIP System Preferences" button.
Allow Teachers to Print the IRIP with signatures?
While teachers have the ability to create and edit IRIPs in the their portal, they do not have access to create a printable version of the plan. If you wish to enable that, click the "Allow Teachers to Print the IRIP with signatures?" checkbox and submit the page.
Use the Custom Parent Letter
The Alaska Department of Education & Early Development has a template for a letter notifying parents that their child is in need of an IRIP and inviting them to attend a meeting. That letter is available in the teacher and admin portals. However, some districts prefer to custom the letter. If your district wishes to use a custom letter, several things need to happen:
- Navigate to PowerSchool's Custom Page Manager (CPM) and copy the code at the following locations into a text editor on your computer.
- /admin/reports/GSDEdServices/reports/NotificationLetter.html
- /teachers/GSDEdServices/reports/NotificationLetter.html
- Make modifications to the letter templates.
- Use CPM to upload these letters to the following locations:
- /admin/reports/GSDEdServices/reports/CustomNotificationLetter.html
- /teachers/GSDEdServices/reports/CustomNotificationLetter.html
- Check the box on the IRIP settings slide out to "Use the Custom Parent Letter". If you do this before uploading your custom letters in CPM, users will get a page not found error when trying to print a the Parent Letter.
